NubAbility!!!!

So this summer I was blessed to get to check out the NubAbility Summer Camp. Here is a little background on this amazing organization!!
Based in Du Quoin, Illinois, our story began with Head Coach Sam Kuhnert, who was born without an extra hand and whose determination allowed him to succeed on the high school and college baseball fields. While working at a family-resources camp for fellow limb-different youth, Sam discovered a need for in-depth, thorough athletic training opportunities.
In 2012, he and eight other limb-different coaches came together in Du Quoin to host a summer camp similar to collegiate camps offered for young athletes. Offering training in a variety of sports, from baseball and softball to basketball, football to wrestling, volleyball to dance and cheer, these coaches built the foundation of NubAbility Athletics.
And on that foundation, the we have continued to grow. In 2014, the third year of our All-Sport Summer Camp, more than 70 limb-different youth from 24 states descended upon Southern Illinois to learn from a roster of more than 30 accomplished coaches. Through three days of camp, these youth, ranging in age from 4 to 18, learned everything from the basics of their respective sports to workouts and drills to help them continually improve.
My short time with Sam and his excellent team of coaches showed the true meaning of lead by example!! Not only did I have a blast but I am gearing up to head to their baseball/softball clinic over New Year’s Day.  Check out their Website for more info on their organization and events!!! www.nubability.org
